Nobel's Sikkens Brand Releases Three New Cetol High Solids
Coatings Representing The Company's Next Wave Technology
Troy,
Mich., Sept. 1, 2004 -Akzo Nobel Decorative Coatings
North America (DCNA), with headquarters in Troy, Mich.,
announced today the launch of three new products as part
of the Sikkens Next Wave assortment. Cetol Log & Siding,
Cetol DEK Finish and Cetol Door & Window represent the
company's Sikkens brand and a continuation of the advancement
of Sikkens' technology. Gerald Koutavas, Sikkens Profit
Center Manager for DCNA, made the announcement.
"These three new Cetol products, formulated with proprietary
high solids technology, were specially developed to maximize
the beauty and longevity of log homes, decks and exterior
wood doors and windows," said Koutavas. "This
next generation or next wave of high solids advancement
offers consumers and contractors the beauty and durability
they expect from Sikkens with a more simple and quick application."
"We are proud to be the industry leader in high-quality
wood care products and finishes. We value our reputation
as being unrivaled in performance and durability for all
types of wood and now in a more user-friendly product line."
Cetol Log & Siding is a translucent, satin finish for
vertical surfaces. This alkyd high solids formulation offers
optimum protection and a premium look using only two coats.
The two-coat finish creates a protective film, giving the
siding a premium look while preserving the natural character
and grain of the wood. It is available in a variety of translucent
colors.
Cetol DEK Finish is a translucent, satin finish for decks.
Based on the success of the Cetol DEK Base & Cetol DEK
products, Cetol DEK Finish offers the same beautiful furniture-like
appearance using only two coats of the same product, eliminating
the need for a base coat. Its durable surface barrier prevents
weathering and its high solid alkyd resin represents another
advancement in Sikkens Next Wave technology.
Cetol Door & Window is a high-performance coating for
specialty applications such as doors and windows and is
available as a clear satin, clear gloss or in four colors
in a satin sheen. Its protective film creates a durable
surface barrier yet retains flexibility and breathability
unmatched by other exterior varnishes and polyurethanes.
These characteristics make Cetol Door & Window out-perform
other exterior products.
"Both consumers and contractors will appreciate the
ease of application of these Cetol finishes," Koutavas
continued. "As with our entire line of 'Simply Beautiful'
wood care products, we're confident these finishes will
create the unparalleled look our customers expect from a
Sikkens product."
All three Cetol products will be available through independent
retailers throughout North America beginning in September
2004. Recommended by professional painters and contractors,
Sikkens wood care products are compliant with all North
American environmental regulations. Photos of the new Cetol
