Rubbol®
Solid Stain Selected by Contractors
A
1700-acre gated community, Geneva National has many structures
to coat including new and existing townhomes and single-family
residences. For the three painting contractors who perform
the maintenance work, the coating choice is extremely important.
"Prior to last year, the contractors were using another
product, but one of the contractors, who is a customer of
ours, used Rubbol Solid Stain and loved it," said Jeff
Peklo, Geneva Paints' Store Manager and stain supplier for
Geneva National.
So
Peklo and Geneva Paint store owner David Heidenreich met
with Scott Lowell, owner of Lowell Management Company who
manages the project, and explained the benefits of using
Rubbol Solid Stain.
The
project is on a four-year rotation schedule," explained
Peklo. "Every four years, the contractors paint the
outside of the structures to maintain their appearance.
The project, still under construction, required 600-800
gallons of coating for maintenance last year for 27-30 units.
This year the coating maintenance requirement is expected
to be 1000 gallons. If the property owners get two extra
years out of a coating, they save money because labor is
the largest expense.
After
meeting with Lowell, Peklo and Heidenreich met with the
contractors and got Rubbol Solid Stain approved as the coating
of choice for the next five years.
Geneva
Paint, located in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, started stocking
Sikkens two years ago. "We had Cabot Stains and were
looking for something better so we tried Sikkens,"
said Peklo. "We believe in fair pricing and having
a lot of product on hand."
